Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure available at our dental clinic. It’s the quickest and most effective way to improve the appearance of your smile.

Teeth whitening or bleaching is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the colour of natural teeth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile. There are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically.Another method is the professionally administered (in-clinic) tooth whitening technique.

The natural whiteness and brightness of teeth fade over time. Discolouration and staining can occur as a result of coffee, tea, red wine and cigarettes.

The purpose of teeth whitening is to restore your teeth to their natural, white colour. This treatment will allow you to enjoy a glossy and healthy smile that you can be proud of.

Professional teeth whitening treatment can achieve in one hour what toothpaste and mouthwash could never accomplish alone. No matter how hard or long you try, only professional teeth whitening can enhance the shade of your teeth.

With advancements in technology, teeth whitening has never been quicker or more comfortable. As a result, there is minimal risk of increased sensitivity, and your teeth won’t be weaker as a result of the treatment.

A popular independent tooth whitening system we provide at the clinic is Phillips Zoom, which has the ability to significantly whiten teeth the same day. Your dentist will use a special light on the teeth to trigger a chemical bleaching solution and induce whitening. You will see visible results immediately.

Since teeth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate there placement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Teeth whitening is not permanent.  A touch-up may be needed every several years and more often if you smoke, drink coffee, tea or wine.

Why choose The Speers Dental for teeth whitening?

We use the latest, most sophisticated teeth whitening equipment at our dental clinic. This means we can guarantee both safety and long-lasting results.

You can make your existing colour up to eight shades lighter. We’ll show you the different shades and discuss precisely how white you want to go with your tooth whitening plan.

You can choose between in-clinic teeth whitening, at-home teeth whitening, or a combination of both. Our in-clinic procedure – delivered by our highly trained, fully qualified,  pain-free, takes just one hour and provides immediate results.

Our at-home teeth whitening system is easy to use and can be completed from the comfort of your own home. Teeth whitening is more accessible than ever before, allowing everyone to enjoy the benefits of a stunning white smile.

For the in-clinic teeth, the dentist will first apply a whitening gel to your teeth. This specialist gel works with the laser whitener to gently penetrate the surface layer of your teeth, removing stains and discolouration as it does so.

Before laser teeth whitening, we’ll cover your gums with a shield to protect them. Next, teeth whitening gel is applied directly to the teeth, and then we shine the whitening laser inside your mouth. This intense light activates the ingredients in the tooth whitening gel.

Treatment is generally completed in three fifteen to twenty-minute sessions. Between sessions, we may recommend a hygienist cleaning, checking and gel re-application, if necessary.

At the end of the treatment, your teeth will look dramatically whiter, with no increase in sensitivity or tooth weakening.

The results of teeth whitening

Whether whitening your teeth in-clinic or at home, no tooth enamel is removed or damaged during the process, and as the procedure is painless, no injections are required.

The teeth whitening results typically last around three years, but even at that point, your teeth will still be considerably whiter than they were before the treatment.
